Dusit Central Park, the landmark mixed-use project being developed in the heart of Bangkok by Dusit International and Central Pattana Public Company Limited (CPN) has confirmed that the project will include as part of its green offerings a 7 Rai (11,200 sq.m.) Roof Park for public use, and a project-wide contemporary design that respects the area’s heritage while bringing something new and unique to Bangkok.
Designed by Dragon Company Limited, A Thai-based company established by Architects 49 International Limited and OMA Asia Hong Kong Limited, the Dusit Central Park project occupies 23 rai (440,000 sq.m) of prime real estate on the corner of Silom and Rama IV Roads, opposite the vast expanse of Lumpini Park.
Developed under the concept ‘Here for Bangkok,’ the project aims to create a new way to live the metropolis life and bring Bangkok to another level as one of the world’s best cities. Key amongst its offerings will be a 69-storey, 389-key private residential tower offering luxury and high-end living in two distinct sections – Dusit Residences and Dusit Parkside – a state-of-the-art office tower (Central Park Offices, set over 45-storeys and spanning 90,000 sq.m), a high-end shopping complex (Central Park, connected to the offices and set partially underground with direct MRT access), and a distinctive reimagining of Dusit Thani Bangkok Hotel, Dusit’s iconic flagship property, which formerly stood on the site as a symbol of gracious Thai hospitality for almost 50 years.
Offering easy access to both the MRT and BTS mass transit systems, at Silom and Sala Daeng Stations respectively, and positioned at the intersection of four neighbourhoods – namely Ratchaprasong, Charoenkrung, Sukhumvit, and Yaowarat.
To translate these concepts into the project, Dragon Company Limited has carefully designed the masterplan for the four buildings so that each offers unobstructed views of Lumpini Park while ensuring that easy access to healthy, green living experiences connects them all.
The new Dusit Thani Bangkok, like its predecessor, will feature a sleek triangular design, this time positioned so that each of its 259 spacious guest rooms (down from the original structure’s 510 rooms, while standing taller at 39 storeys) offers vistas of the park.
The exclusive Dusit Residences and Dusit Parkside will also be angled to make the most out of their elevated, prime location to bring green, scenic perspectives to residents in their living rooms, bedrooms and from their spacious balconies.
Guests, residents and the general public will also enjoy access to the aforementioned large Roof Park, expertly placed atop the low-rise, semi-underground Central Park shopping complex, in the centre of the project. Ascending from the fourth floor of the shopping complex and set over three levels, the Roof Park will provide space for running, cycling and other exercise activities. It will also host arts and music events as well as other meaningful experiences. The natural horizon will blend seamlessly with the view of Lumpini Park.
