Ms. Suphajee Suthumpun, Group Chief Executive Officer, Dusit Thani Public Company Limited, stated, “From our launch of the naming contest “The Landmark of Thai Pride: Roof Park Naming Campaign,” we opened the opportunity for everyone to be part of the history with Bangkok’s new quality green space. We received tremendous interest with more than 2,200 submissions. We were honoured to have a distinguished panel of judges from various organisations, both public and private sectors, participate in selecting the submitted names, including Dusit Thani Public Company Limited, Vimarn Suriya Company Limited, King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital under the Thai Red Cross Society, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), Thailand National Artist 2020 of Visual Arts, A49 Architects Company Limited, and Landscape Collaboration Company Limited. Together, they selected beautiful and meaningful names that met the criteria of the naming campaign. Today, we officially announce the name of Thailand’s Largest Urban Roof Park as “Dusit Arun at Dusit Central Park (สวนดุสิตอรุณ ณ ดุสิต เซ็นทรัล พาร์ค)”.

“Dusit” is not only the name of Dusit Thani Bangkok that has stood tall with Bangkok and Thailand, but also means a land of peace, a serene and graceful paradise. The word ‘Arun’ signifies the first light of day, the silvery-golden rays of the sun as it rises beyond the horizon. It is not merely the arrival of daylight, but a symbol of new beginnings: a moment when nature and people awaken to embrace vibrant life each day. Inspired by the timeless beauty of Wat Arun, the symbol of Bangkok’s and Thailand’s dawn, the project’s architectural design draws from the iconic spires of Wat Arun Ratchawararam. This distinctive silhouette has become a defining identity, instantly recognisable as part of the Dusit Thani legacy. With a vision to preserve this identity while embracing the spirit of modernity, the design captures a balance of beauty, classic elegance, and uniquely Thai character that continues to inspire both Thais and visitors from around the world. Ms. Suphajee continued, “Within the area of ‘Dusit Arun at Dusit Central Park (สวนดุสิตอรุณ ณ ดุสิต เซ็นทรัล พาร์ค),’ which provides a large green space of 7 rai (11,200 square metres), we have designed various facilities, especially 8 key highlights that will create wonders welcoming everyone:

Bird Nest Viewpoint (จุดชมวิวระเบียงรังนก): A significant area offering panoramic views seamlessly connecting Dusit Arun at Dusit Central Park (สวนดุสิตอรุณ ณ ดุสิต เซ็นทรัล พาร์ค) with Lumpini Park.
