ไม้พุ่มหรือไม้ต้นขนาดเล็ก สูง 2–5 เมตร แตกกิ่งก้านหนาทึบ ใบประกอบแบบขนนกปลายคี่ ใบย่อยรูปรีหรือรูปไข่ ปลายใบแหลม ดอกออกเป็นช่อเล็ก สีเหลืองอ่อนถึงเหลืองเข้ม มีกลิ่นหอมแรง โดยเฉพาะตอนเช้าและตอนเย็น ผลกลมเล็ก สีแดงถึงแดงเข้ม เมื่อสุกมีเมล็ดสีดำ พบในเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้และจีนตอนใต้
A small shrub or small tree, 2–5 m tall, with dense branching. Leaves pinnate with an odd number of leaflets, elliptic to ovate. Flowers borne in small clusters, yellow to golden-yellow, strongly fragrant, especially in the mornings and evenings. Fruits are small, spherical, turning bright red when ripe, containing black seeds. Native to Southeast Asia and southern China. Widely cultivated in Thailand for many purposes.
