ไม้ยืนต้นผลัดใบขนาดกลาง สูง 10–15 เมตร ใบประกอบแบบ 3 ใบย่อย (trifoliate) ใบย่อยรูปรีถึงรูปไข่ ปลายเรียวแหลม ดอกสีแดงสดหรือส้มอมแดง ออกเป็นช่อ ผลเป็นฝักยาว เมล็ดสีน้ำตาลแดง พบตามพื้นที่ชุ่มน้ำ ริมแม่น้ำ คูคลอง ป่าชายเลน และป่าเบญจพรรณชื้นในประเทศไทย เอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ อินโดนีเซีย มาเลเซีย และฟิลิปปินส์
Medium-sized deciduous tree, 10–15 m tall. Trifoliate compound leaves with oval to elliptic leaflets. Bright red to orange-red flowers bloom in clusters. Produces long pods with reddish-brown seeds. Found in wetlands, riverbanks, canals, mangrove areas, and moist deciduous forests across Southeast Asia, including Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines.
